Right to Play
The Challenge / Opportunity:
Since its inception, a cornerstone of the City Chase Series has been generating awareness and funding for a dedicated charitable partner. City Chase had previously followed a request of a previous sponsor that did not fit with the spirit of the event. The City Chase team was looking to forge a long-term partnership with a charity that fit the spirit of the event.
What We Did:
After much searching, in late 2007, City Chase identified Right To Play as the official charity of City Chase Canada - a charity that better aligned with the athletic positioning of the event and in the process, allowed the program and it’s participants to rally behind a more strategic aligned partner.
‘InField chose to partner with Right to Play, as they use specially-designed sport and play programs to improve health, build life skills, and foster peace for children and communities affected by war, poverty and disease. Right To Play is supported by an international team of top athletes who inspire children, are role models for healthy lifestyle choices and who help raise awareness and funding for Right To Play projects (currently in 23 countries across Africa, Asia, South America and the Middle East). We believe their vision to create a healthier and safer world through the power of sport and play aligned perfectly with the City Chase brand and the personalities of our participants.
Program Results:
Starting with the 2008 Canadian series, City Chase generated more than $100,000 for charity and has publicly targeted $200,000 in total funds raised for Right to Play by the end of 2009.
